Biden: Banning sex change treatment in children is ‘wrong’

US President Joe Biden said it is a “mistake” for states to ban sex change surgery and puberty blockers for children.

Biden: Banning sex change treatment in children is ‘wrong’.

The president made this claim during a conversation with a popular transgender tiktoker held at the White House last week and shared by NowThis News.

In response to whether states would have the right to ban gender-based health services, he said: “I don’t think any state or anyone should have the right to do that. As a moral question and as a legal question, I just think it’s wrong.”

In his speech, the White House chief referred to his late son Beau, who, he said, as attorney general of Delaware passed the most extensive legislation in the United States to protect the rights of transgender people. Biden expressed fear at the idea that transgender Americans could be excluded from certain medications or procedures.

“So I think very, very strongly that you should have every single right, including using your gender identity bathrooms in public,” Biden added.

The president argued that “people fear what they don’t know”, although immersing themselves in the issue can “make them change their minds”.

American officials, he said, must continue to speak of “the fundamental basic rights of all human beings. What is happening in some states is outrageous and I think it is immoral,” he stressed.

“Child abuse”

The Biden administration has released a series of documents encouraging gender reassignment surgery and hormone treatments for minors, Fox News reported in March.

For his part, Roger Marshall, a senator from Kansas, called the gender-affirming assistance “child abuse”, arguing that under Biden’s “gender care” policies “these children may suffer irreversible damage.”
