Pastor in India beaten, forced to parade through the city after accusation of eating beef

A pastor in India was brutally beaten, tortured, had his head shaved and forced to parade through the streets of his city after being accused by Hindu extremists of eating and smuggling animal meat.

Along with this, 7 other Christians were attacked by a large group of 70 Hindu extremists who accused them of eating beef; which is prohibited for the Hindu culture, since they consider it a sacred animal.

“While I was getting my head shaved, the razor cut my skull and the blood flowed. A man standing nearby pointed to the cut and asked the man who was shaving my head to be careful, to which he immediately responded, saying, ‘This Christian should be thankful that I am only using the razor on his head and not on his neck, ‘” Pastor Singh said of the attack in Jharkhand state on September 16.

The pastor’s head was shaved and his shoes were hung around his neck while he was forced to parade through the city along with the other Christians; then they were forced to sing a song of worship to the deity Ram.

Refusing to sing “Jai Shri Ram” (Victory for the god Ram) they were beaten with metal sticks and bars; others did not resist and sang the song when they saw that they had more torture methods.

“Some of us sang to escape the blows from time to time. Those who did not sing were immediately beaten with sticks. They also had long wooden handles with large iron spikes, with which they beat us, ” said the pastor.

What Morning Star News reports is that the pastor was attacked while he was sitting in the backyard of his house very early in the morning; They invaded his home and upon confirming that he had converted from Hinduism to Christianity, the attack began.

“They said, ‘You slandered the Hindu name by becoming a Christian.’ While they were criticizing and cursing me, one of them said to another: ‘Why do you talk so much? Take him out and cut him into pieces, ” he said.

Then, they dragged him and beat him while saying phrases in the Hindu language; the pastor’s wife wanted to intervene and they beat her, leaving her with a serious back injury.

Kullu, 26, Emmanuel Tete, 28, Sosan Dang, 28, Sugadh Dang, 26, were also attacked while Sulin Barla and Sem Lindo managed to escape.
