Great men are not always wise: Neither do the aged understand judgment.


The rich man's wealth is his strong city, And as an high wall in his own conceit.


He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; But his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.


Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, Than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.


Labour not to be rich: Cease from thine own wisdom.


Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him.


The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit Than seven men that can render a reason.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
