Proverbs 27:4

for he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.


And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.


And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.


For wrath killeth the foolish man, And envy slayeth the silly one.


A sound heart is the life of the flesh: But envy the rottenness of the bones.


A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.


For jealousy is the rage of a man: Therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.


Set me as a seal upon thine heart, As a seal upon thine arm: For love is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as the grave: The coals thereof are coals of fire, Which hath a most vehement flame.


For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.


But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.


Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,


And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,


being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,


Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.


And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
