31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.


And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-baal, and the Mehunims.


Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,


Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:


O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.


Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: But the LORD helped me.


The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, And delivereth them.


God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.


The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.


In God will I praise his word: In the LORD will I praise his word.


Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul had almost dwelt in silence.


And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.


When a man's ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.


The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, As the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
