Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.”


My eyes long for your salvation and for the fulfillment of your righteous promise.


I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments.


My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times.


Take away from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies.


I cling to your testimonies, O Lord; let me not be put to shame!


And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in your rules.


I know, O Lord, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.


the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.


Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool!


He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!


lest he who hears you bring shame upon you, and your ill repute have no end.


In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul.


We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things.


And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?


Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.


So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander.


and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.


for his judgments are true and just; for he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”
