Father and mother are treated with contempt in you; the sojourner suffers extortion in your midst; the fatherless and the widow are wronged in you.


“You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired worker shall not remain with you all night until the morning.


You shall pay your neighbor according to the number of years after the jubilee, and he shall sell to you according to the number of years for crops.


You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God, for I am the Lord your God.


Their hands are on what is evil, to do it well; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.


Soldiers also asked him, “And we, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not extort money from anyone by threats or by false accusation, and be content with your wages.”


But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers!


Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, for he had 900 chariots of iron and he oppressed the people of Israel cruelly for twenty years.
