Leviticus 25:10 - English Standard Version 2016

10 And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan.

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem to make a proclamation of liberty to them,


But if he makes a gift out of his inheritance to one of his servants, it shall be his to the year of liberty. Then it shall revert to the prince; surely it is his inheritance—it shall belong to his sons.


That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of itself nor gather the grapes from the undressed vines.


“In this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his property.


Then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and go back to his own clan and return to the possession of his fathers.


And if he is not redeemed by these means, then he and his children with him shall be released in the year of jubilee.


that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear,


Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.


Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.


For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.


Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
