And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God.


He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.


Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses in the wilderness where he was encamped at the mountain of God.


Moses went out to meet his father-in-law and bowed down and kissed him. And they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent.


while Moses went up to God. The Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel:


Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid and trembled, and they stood far off


So Moses rose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God.


Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.


So he let him alone. It was then that she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.


Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.


Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them.”
