‘Why have we fasted, and you see it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’ Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers.


and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.


When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?”


“At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release.


Of a foreigner you may exact it, but whatever of yours is with your brother your hand shall release.

For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
