And he said to her: Why dost thou go to him? to-day is neither new moon nor sabbath. She answered: I will go.


And David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites, to appoint some of their brethren to be singers with musical instruments, to wit, on psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, that the joyful noise might resound on high.


Now the singers, Hemar, Asaph, and Ethan, sounded with cymbals of brass.


And Sebenias, and Josaphat, and Nathanael, and Amasai, and Zacharias, and Banaias, and Eliezer the priests sounded with trumpets, before the ark of God: and Obededom and Jehias were porters of the ark.


And Heman and Idithun sounded the trumpet, and played on the cymbals, and all kinds of musical instruments to sing praises to God. And the sons of Idithun he made porters.


But Banaias, and Jaziel the priests, to sound the trumpet continually before the ark of the covenant of the Lord.


Moreover David and the chief officers of the army separated for the ministry the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Idithun: to prophesy with harps, and with psalteries, and with cymbals according to their number serving in their appointed office.


Therefore God is the leader in our army, and his priests who sound with trumpets, and resound against you: O children of Israel, fight not against the Lord the God of your fathers, for it is not good for you.


And when Juda looked back, they saw the battle coming upon them both before and behind, and they cried to the Lord: and the priests began to sound with the trumpets.


So do with me: that I may build a house to the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to burn incense before him, and to perfume with aromatical spices, and for the continual setting forth of bread, and for the holocausts, morning and evening, and on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and the solemnities of the Lord our God for ever, which are commanded for Israel.


Both the Levites and the singing men, that is, both they that were under Asaph, and they that were under Heman, and they that were under Idithun, with their sons, and their brethren, clothed with fine linen, sounded with cymbals, and psalteries, and harps, standing on the east side of the altar: and with them a hundred and twenty priests, sounding with trumpets.


That every day an offering might be made on it according to the ordinance of Moses: in the sabbaths: and on the new moons: and on the festival days three times a year, that is to say, in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.


Let them praise his name in choir: let them sing to him with the timbrel and the psaltery.


I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.


Moses and Aaron among his priests: and Samuel among them that call upon his name. They called upon the Lord, and he heard them:


Vau. And he hath destroyed his tent as a garden, he hath thrown down his tabernacle. The Lord hath caused feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Sion and hath delivered up king and priest to reproach and to the indignation of his wrath.


Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, and that preacheth peace: O Juda, keep thy festivals, and pay thy vows: for Belial shall no more pass through thee again, he is utterly cut off.


And shall make an offering to the Lord, for a holocaust, or a victim, paying your vows, or voluntarily offering gifts, or in your solemnities burning a sweet savour unto the Lord, of oxen or of sheep:


And on the first day of the month you shall offer a holocaust to the Lord, two calves of the herd, one ram, and seven lambs of a year old, without blemish.


Seven days shalt thou celebrate feasts to the Lord thy God in the place which the Lord shall choose. And the Lord thy God will bless thee in all thy fruits, and in every work of thy hands, and thou shalt be in joy.


Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in respect of a festival day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths,
