His eyes shall see his own destruction: and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.


He will not always be angry: nor will he threaten for ever.


Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication.


Many say to my soul: There is no salvation for him in his God.


Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts to the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood and I will give them gall to drink: for from the prophets of Jerusalem corruption is gone forth into all the land.


And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Joachin king of Juda, in the twelfth month, the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Joachin king of Juda and brought him forth out of prison.


And Jesus answering, said: You know not what you ask. Can you drink the chalice that I shall drink? They say to him: We can.


Again the second time, he went and prayed, saying: My Father, if this chalice may not pass away, but I must drink it, thy will be done.


Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and so to enter into his glory?


Jesus therefore said to Peter: Put up thy sword into the scabbard. The chalice which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?


Searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them did signify: when it foretold those sufferings that are in Christ, and the glories that should follow:


Then the Lord opened a great tooth in the jaw of the ass, and waters issued out of it. And when he had drank them he refreshed his spirit, and recovered his strength. Therefore the name of that place was called, The Spring of him that invoked from the jawbone, until this present day.
