The wicked shall see, and shall be angry, he shall gnash with his teeth and pine away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.


Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged! I have dwelt with the inhabitants of Cedar:


Whose mouth hath spoken vanity: and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.


The wicked maketh an unsteady work: but to him that soweth justice, there is a faithful reward.


The thoughts of the just are judgments: and the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.


Folly is joy to the fool: and the wise man maketh straight his steps.


Then shalt thou understand justice, and judgment, and equity, and every good path.


I walk in the way of justice, in the midst of the paths of judgment,


And I saw that wisdom excelled folly, as much as light differeth from darkness.


For there shall be no remembrance of the wise no more than of the fool for ever, and the times to come shall cover all things together with oblivion: the learned dieth in like manner as the unlearned.


Lift up your eyes and see, you that come from the north. Where is the flock that is given thee, thy beautiful cattle?


For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: I will catch the wise in their own craftiness.


To put off, according to former conversation, the old man, who is corrupted according to the desire of error.


Wherefore become not unwise, but understanding what is the will of God.


But evil men and seducers shall grow worse and worse: erring, and driving into error.


Who is a wise man, and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew, by a good conversation, his work in the meekness of wisdom.
