Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad, let the sea be moved, and the fulness thereof:


And Moses went up to God. And the Lord called unto him from the mountain, and said: Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:


Now Moses fed the sheep of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Madian: and he drove the flock to the inner parts of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, Horeb.


In that day, the root of Jesse, who standeth for an ensign of the people, him the Gentiles shall beseech: and his sepulchre shall be glorious.


To whom he said: This is my rest. Refresh the weary, and this is my refreshing. And they would not hear.


THUS saith the Lord: Heaven is my throne, and the earth my footstool. What is this house that you will build to me? And what is this place of my rest?


And when you shall be multiplied and increase in the land in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more: The ark of the covenant of the Lord. Neither shall it come upon the heart, neither shall they remember it, neither shall it be visited, neither shall that be done any more.


Thus saith the Lord: The people that were left and escaped from the sword found grace in the desert: Israel shall go to his rest.


Thus saith the Lord: Stand ye on the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, which is the good way, and walk ye in it: and you shall find refreshment for your souls. And they said: We will not walk.


In that day, I lifted up my hand for them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt, into a land which I had provided for them, flowing with milk and honey, which excelleth amongst all lands.


And the children of Israel marched by their troops from the desert of Sinai: and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Pharan.


Who went before you in the way, and marked out the place, wherein you should pitch your tents: in the night shewing you the way by fire, and in the day by the pillar of a cloud.


Take this book, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God: that it may be there for a testimony against thee.


When I went up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, the tables of the covenant which the Lord made with you. And I continued in the mount forty days and nights, neither eating bread, nor drinking water.


And may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great pastor of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the blood of the everlasting testament,


You shall answer them: The waters of the Jordan ran off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, when it passed over the same. Therefore were these stones set for a monument of the children of Israel for ever.


And inquired of him concerning their state. At that time the ark of the covenant of the Lord was there.


And the people returned to the camp: and the ancients of Israel said: Why hath the Lord defeated us to-day before the Philistines? Let us fetch unto us the ark of the covenant of the Lord from Silo: and let it come in the midst of us, that it may save us from the hand of our enemies.
