THUS saith the Lord: What is this bill of the divorce of your mother, with which I have put her away? Or who is my creditor, to whom I sold you? Behold, you are sold for your iniquities: and for your wicked deeds have I put your mother away.


And the Lord said to me: The rebellious Israel hath justified her soul, in comparison of the treacherous Juda.


Our father died in the desert, and was not in the sedition that was raised against the Lord under Core but he died in his own sin. And he had no male children. Why is his name taken away out of his family, because he had no son? Give us a possession among the kinsmen of our father.


But when that servant was gone out, he found one of his fellow servants that owed him an hundred pence: and laying hold of him, throttled him, saying: Pay what thou owest.


And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.


And he answering said to them: Give you them to eat. And they said to him: Let us go and buy bread for two hundred pence, and we will give them to eat.


And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.


But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more.


Or those eighteen upon whom the tower fell in Siloe, and slew them: think you, that they also were debtors above all the men that dwelt in Jerusalem?


And Jesus answering, said to him: Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. But he said: Master, say it.


Wherefore I say to thee: Many sins are forgiven her, because she hath loved much. But to whom less is forgiven, he loveth less.


For all have sinned, and do need the glory of God.


Now the law entered in, that sin might abound. And where sin abounded, grace did more abound.
