And he read in the book of the law of God day by day, from the first day till the last. And they kept the solemnity seven days, and in the eighth day a solemn assembly according to the manner.


Send forth lightning, and thou shalt scatter them: shoot out thy arrows, and thou shalt trouble them.


For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?


Unto the end, a psalm for David.


Wisdom preacheth abroad, she uttereth her voice in the streets:


Doth not wisdom cry aloud, and prudence put forth her voice?


I love them that love me: and they that in the morning early watch for me, shall find me.


Beside the gates of the city, in the very doors she speaketh, saying:


She hath sent her maids to invite to the tower, and to the walls of the city:


Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat the fruit of his apple trees. I am come into my garden, O my sister, my spouse, I have gathered my myrrh, with my aromatical spices: I have eaten the honeycomb with my honey, I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends, and drink, and be inebriated, my dearly beloved.


You shall draw waters with joy out of the saviour's fountains.


Speak ye to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her: for her evil is come to an end, her iniquity is forgiven. She hath received of the hand of the Lord double for all her sins.


The voice of one, saying: Cry. And I said: What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the glory thereof as the flower of the field.


For I will pour out waters upon the thirsty ground and streams upon the dry land: I will pour out my spirit upon thy seed and my blessing upon thy stock.


ALL you that thirst, come to the waters: and you that have no money, make haste, buy and eat. Come ye, buy wine and milk without money and without any price.


Incline your ear and come to me. Hear and your soul shall live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the faithful mercies of David.


CRY, cease not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their wicked doings and the house of Jacob their sins.


O Lord, my might and my strength and my refuge in the day of tribulation: to thee the Gentiles shall come from the ends of the earth and shall say: Surely our fathers have possessed lies, a vanity which hath not profited them.


Go, and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying: Thus saith the Lord: I have remembered thee, pitying thy youth and the love of thy espousals, when thou followedst me in the desert, in a land that is not sown.

The eighth day also shall be most solemn and most holy: and you shall offer holocausts to the Lord. For it is the day of assembly and congregation. You shall do no servile work therein.


So from the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you shall have gathered in all the fruits of your land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days. On the first day and the eighth shall be a sabbath: that is a day of rest.


The voice of the Lord crieth to the city, and salvation shall be to them that fear thy name: hear, O ye tribes, and who shall approve it?


The Lord of hosts will protect them: and they shall devour, and subdue with the stones of the sling: and drinking they shall be inebriated as it were with wine, and they shall be filled as bowls, and as the horns of the altar.


On the eighth day, which is moat solemn, you shall do no servile work.


Come to me, all you that labour, and are burdened, and I will refresh you.


For this is he that was spoken of by Isaias the prophet, saying: A voice of one crying in the desert, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.


Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.


He said: I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Isaias.


Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.


Jesus answered, and said to her: If thou didst know the gift of God, and who he is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou perhaps wouldst have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.


The woman saith to him: Sir, thou hast nothing wherein to draw, and the well is deep; from whence then hast thou living water?


But the water that I will give him, shall become in him a fountain of water, springing up into life everlasting.


And you will not come to me that you may have life.


And Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst.


All that the Father giveth to me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me, I will not cast out.


He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.


Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching, and saying: You both know me, and you know whence I am: and I am not come of myself; but he that sent me, is true, whom you know not.


You cannot drink the chalice of the Lord, and the chalice of devils: you cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord, and of the table of devils.


And all drank the same spiritual drink; (and they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.)


In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me.


For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and in one Spirit we have all been made to drink.


And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury; but be ye filled with the holy Spirit,


And he said to me: It is done. I am Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end. To him that thirsteth, I will give of the fountain of the water of life, freely.


And he shewed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.


And the spirit and the bride say: Come. And he that heareth, let him say: Come. And he that thirsteth, let him come: and he that will, let him take the water of life, freely.
