John 18:32

And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to be mocked, and scourged, and crucified, and the third day he shall rise again.


You know that after two days shall be the pasch, and the son of man shall be delivered up to be crucified:


Saying: Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests, and to the scribes and ancients, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles.


The Jews then took up stones to stone him.


The Jews answered him: For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, maketh thyself God.


I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen. But that the scripture may be fulfilled: He that eateth bread with me, shall lift up his heel against me.


Pilate therefore said to them: Take him you, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him: It is not lawful for us to put any man to death;


And this he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had said this, he saith to him: Follow me.


And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of man be lifted up:


Jesus therefore said to them: When you shall have lifted up the Son of man, then shall you know, that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself, but as the Father hath taught me, these things I speak:


And falling on his knees, he cried with a loud voice, saying: Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep in the Lord. And Saul was consenting to his death.


Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written: Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:


His body shall not remain upon the tree, but shall be buried the same day. For he is accursed of God that hangeth on a tree: and thou shalt not defile thy land, which the Lord thy God shall give thee in possession.
