And the firstborn of the poor shall be fed, and the poor shall rest with confidence: and I will make thy root perish with famine, and I will kill thy remnant.


The cities of Aroer shall be left for flocks: and they shall rest there, and there shall be none to make them afraid.


For the strong city shall be desolate: the beautiful city shall be forsaken and shall be left as a wilderness. There the calf shall feed: and there shall he lie down and shall consume its branches.


THE land that was desolate and impassable shall be glad: and the wilderness shall rejoice and shall flourish like the lily.


But to thee this shall be a sign: Eat this year the things that spring of themselves, and in the second year eat fruits; but in the third year sow and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.


And the lambs shall feed according to their order: and strangers shall eat the deserts turned into fruitfulness.


And as for all the hills that shall be raked with a rake, the fear of thorns and briers shall not come thither, but they shall be for the ox to feed on, and the lesser cattle to tread upon.


But Nabuzardan the general left some of the poor people, that had nothing at all, in the land of Juda: and he gave them vineyards and cisterns at that time.
