And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the weight of the house of Achab. And I will efface Jerusalem, as tables are wont to be effaced: and I will erase and turn it, and draw the pencil often over the face thereof.


Remember the word that thou commandedst to Moses thy servant, saying: If you shall transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:


Who giveth to beasts their food: and to the young ravens that call upon him.


For this, I will trouble the heaven: and the earth shall be moved out of her place: for the indignation of the Lord of hosts, and for the day of his fierce wrath.


To them that come from a country afar off, from the end of heaven: the Lord and the instruments of his wrath, to destroy the whole land.


And they shall go into the holes of rocks and into the caves of the earth from the face of the fear of the Lord and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall rise up to strike the earth.


With breaking shall the earth be broken, with crushing shall the earth be crushed, with trembling shall the earth be moved.


With shaking shall the earth be shaken as a drunken man, and shall be removed as the tent of one night. And the iniquity thereof shall be heavy upon it: and it shall fall and not rise again.


For the strong city shall be desolate: the beautiful city shall be forsaken and shall be left as a wilderness. There the calf shall feed: and there shall he lie down and shall consume its branches.


This thought of yours is perverse: as if the clay should think against the potter, and the work should say to the maker thereof: Thou madest me not. Or the thing framed should say to him that fashioned it: Thou understandest not.


And I will make a trench about Ariel, and it shall be in sorrow and mourning, and it shall be to me as Ariel.


And the passage of the rod shall be strongly grounded, which the Lord shall make to rest upon him with timbrels and harps and in great battles he shall over-throw them.


Mourn for your breasts, for the delightful country, for the fruitful vineyard.


The land hath mourned and languished: Libanus is confounded and become foul. And Saron is become as a desert: and Basan and Carmel are shaken.


Night and day, it shall not be quenched: the smoke thereof shall go up for ever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste: none shall pass through it for ever and ever.


For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath killed them and delivered them to slaughter.


I will lay waste the mountains and hills, and will make all their grass to wither: and I will turn rivers into islands and will dry up the standing pools.


And I will make it desolate. It shall not be pruned and it shall not be digged: but briers and thorns shall come up. And I will command the clouds to rain no rain upon it.

Israel is a scattered flock, the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria devoured him, and last this Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon hath broken his bones.


Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon hath eaten me up: he hath devoured me: he hath made me as an empty vessel: he hath swallowed me up like a dragon: he hath filled his belly with my delicate meats and he hath cast me out.


And I will scatter them among the nations which they and their fathers have not known: and I will send the sword after them till they be consumed.

And I will make thee desolate and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of every one that passeth by.


A third part thou shalt burn with fire in the midst of the city, according to the fulfilling of the days of the siege: and thou shalt take a third part, and cut it in pieces with the knife all round about: and the other third part thou shalt scatter in the wind, and I will draw out the sword after them.


And I will stretch forth my hand upon them: and I will make the land desolate and abandoned, from the desert of Deblatha, in all their dwelling-places: and they shall know that I am the Lord.


In all your dwelling-places. The cities shall be laid waste and the high places shall be thrown down and destroyed, and your altars shall be abolished and shall be broken in pieces: and your idols shall be no more, and your temples shall be destroyed, and your works shall be defaced.


The time is come, the day is at hand: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the people thereof.


Blow the trumpet, let all be made ready. Yet there is none to go to the battle: for my wrath shall be upon all the people thereof.


The mountains tremble at him, and the hills are made desolate: and the earth hath quaked at his presence, and the world, and all that dwell therein.


She is destroyed, and rent, and torn: the heart melteth, and the knees fail, and all the loins lose their strength: and the faces of them all are as the blackness of a kettle.

And not finding them, they drew Jason and certain brethren to the rulers of the city, crying: They that set the city in an uproar, are come hither also;


The Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the farthest parts of the earth to the ends thereof. And there thou shalt serve strange gods, which both thou art ignorant of and thy fathers, wood and stone.


I said: Where are they? I will make the memory of them to cease from among men.


And scatter you among all nations: and you shall remain a few among the nations, to which the Lord shall lead you.


James the servant of God, and of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
