Hear me, O Lord, for thy mercy is kind; look upon me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.


As yet the flesh was between their teeth, neither had that kind of meat failed: when, behold, the wrath of the Lord being provoked against the people struck them with an exceeding great plague.


And the number of them that were slain was fourteen thousand and seven hundred men, besides them that had perished in the sedition of Core.


Wherefore the Lord sent among the people fiery serpents, which bit them and killed many of them.


And there were slain four and twenty thousand men.


Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.


Why then was the law? It was set because of transgressions, until the seed should come, to whom he made the promise, being ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.


But he that will be proud, and refuse to obey the commandment of the priest, who ministereth at that time to the Lord thy God, and the decree of the judge: that man shall die, and thou shalt take away the evil from Israel.


When there shall be found among you within any of thy gates, which the Lord thy God shall give thee, man or woman that do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, and transgress his covenant:


Thou shalt bring forth the man or the woman, who have committed that most wicked thing, to the gates of thy city, and they shall be stoned.


Cursed be he that abideth not in the words of this law, and fulfilleth them not in work. And all the people shall say: Amen.


Let my doctrine gather as the rain, let my speech distil as the dew: as a shower upon the herb, and as drops upon the grass.


God, who, at sundry times and in divers manners, spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, last of all,


A man making void the law of Moses, dieth without any mercy under two or three witnesses:


Do not therefore lose your confidence, which hath a great reward.


Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasure of the Egyptians. For he looked unto the reward.


But without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and is a rewarder to them that seek him.


See that you refuse him not that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke upon the earth, much more shall not we, that turn away from him that speaketh to us from heaven.


And we have the more firm prophetical word: whereunto you do well to attend, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:


I will therefore admonish you, though ye once knew all things, that Jesus, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, did afterwards destroy them that believed not:
