The Lord, said he, in whose sight I walk, will send his angel with thee, and will direct thy way. And thou shalt take a wife for my son of my own kindred, and of my father's house.


And rending his garments he went to his brethren, and said: The boy doth not appear, and whither shall I go?


Their father Jacob said: You have made me to be without children: Joseph is not living, Simeon is kept in bonds, and Benjamin you will take away. All these evils are fallen upon me.


And Henoch walked with God: and lived after he begot Mathusala, three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.


And all the days of Henoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.


And Mathusala lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.


These are the generations of Noe. Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations; he walked with God.


And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elias into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elias and Eliseus were going from Galgal.


And he answered: Thou hast asked a hard thing. Nevertheless if thou see me when I am taken from thee, thou shalt have what thou hast asked: but if thou see me not, thou shalt not have it.


And as they went on, walking and talking together, behold, a fiery chariot, and fiery horses parted them both asunder: and Elias went up by a whirlwind into heaven.


And Eliseus saw him, and cried: My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the driver thereof. And he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own garments, and rent them in two pieces.


And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.


Thus saith the Lord: A voice was heard on high of lamentation, of mourning and weeping, of Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted for them, because they are not.


A voice in Rama was heard, lamentation and great mourning; Rachel bewailing her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.


And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee, this day thou shalt be with me in paradise.


But if we walk in the light, as he also is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.


Now of these Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying: Behold, the Lord cometh with thousands of his saints,
