And David said to him: Thy blood be upon thy own head. For thy own mouth hath spoken against thee, saying: I have slain the Lord's anointed.


I would comfort you also with words, and would wag my head over you.


Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, and from the stumblingblocks of them that work iniquity.


who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled,


He that winketh with the eye shall cause sorrow: and the foolish in lips shall be beaten.


The wise of heart receiveth precepts: a fool is beaten with lips.


There is that promiseth, and is pricked as it were with a sword of conscience: but the tongue of the wise is health.


The tongue of the wise adorneth knowledge: but the mouth of fools bubbleth out folly.


A man rejoiceth in the sentence of his mouth: and a word in due time is best.


A false witness shall not be unpunished: and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.


He that loveth cleanness of heart, for the grace of his lips shall have the king for his friend.


As if a thorn should grow in the hand of a drunkard: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.


She hath opened her mouth to wisdom, and the law of clemency is on her tongue.


The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails deeply fastened in, which by the counsel of masters are given from one shepherd.


The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh, saying:


Dreams follow many cares: and in many words shall be found folly.


Where there are many dreams, there are many vanities, and words without number: but do thou fear God.


The words of the wise are heard in silence, more than the cry of a prince among fools.


A good man out of a good treasure bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of an evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.


He saith to him: Out of thy own mouth I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow:


And all gave testimony to him: and they wondered at the words of grace that proceeded from his mouth, and they said: Is not this the son of Joseph?


Let no evil speech proceed from your mouth; but that which is good, to the edification of faith, that it may administer grace to the hearers.


Let your speech be always in grace seasoned with salt: that you may know how you ought to answer every man.
