And when David heard of it, after the thing was now done, he said: I, and my kingdom are innocent before the Lord for ever of the blood of Abner the son of Ner.


And Isboseth the son of Saul heard that Abner was slain in Hebron: and his hands were weakened. And all Israel was troubled.


And the Lord shall return his blood upon his own head, because he murdered two men, just and better than himself; and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing it: Abner the son of Ner, general of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, general of the army of Juda.


Thou knowest also what Joab the son of Sarvia hath done to me, what he did to the two captains of the army of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner, and to Amasa the son of Jether: whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.


And over the half tribe of Manasses in Galaad, Jaddo the son of Zacharias: And over Benjamin, Jasiel the son of Abner:


He that covereth hatred deceitfully, his malice shall be laid open in the public assembly.


And Ismahel the son of Nathanias arose, and the ten men that were with him, and they struck Godolias the son of Ahicam, the son of Saphan, with the sword, and slew him whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.


The kinsman of him that was slain shall kill the murderer: as soon as he apprehendeth him, he shall kill him.


If through hatred any one push a man; or fling any thing at him with ill design:


Cursed be he that secretly killeth his neighbour. And all the people shall say: Amen.
