And they came to the place which God had shewn him, where he built an altar, and laid the wood in order upon it. And when he had bound Isaac his son, he laid him on the altar upon the pile of wood.


And Noe built an altar unto the Lord: and taking of all cattle and fowls that were clean, offered holocausts upon the altar.


And they buried them with the bones of Saul, and of Jonathan his son in the land of Benjamin, in the side, in the sepulchre of Cis his father. And they did all that the king had commanded: and God shewed mercy again to the land after these things.


And David said to Gad: I am in a great strait: but it is better that I should fall into the hands of the Lord (for his mercies are many) than into the hands of men.


Now king David was old, and advanced in years: and when he was covered with clothes, he was not warm.


And my indignation shall rest in thee and my jealousy shall depart from thee: and I will cease and be angry no more.


Whosoever approacheth to the tabernacle of the Lord, he dieth. Are we all to a man to be utterly destroyed?


And rising early the next day, they built an altar: and offered there holocausts, and victims of peace. And they said:


And Gedeon built there an altar to the Lord, and called it the Lord's peace, until this present day. And when he was yet in Ephra, which is of the family of Ezri,


Then Saul said: Bring me the holocaust, and the peace-offerings. And he offered the holocaust.


And Saul built an altar to the Lord; and he then first began to build an altar to the Lord.


And he returned to Ramatha; for there was his house, and there he judged Israel. He built also there an altar to the Lord.


And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it whole for a holocaust to the Lord: and Samuel cried to the Lord for Israel. And the Lord heard him.
