Bana the son of Ahilud, who governed Thanac and Mageddo, and all Bethsan, which is by Sarthana beneath Jezrael, from Bethsan unto Abelmehula over against Jecmaan.


But Amasias did not rest satisfied. So Joas king of Israel went up; and he and Amasias king of Juda saw one another in Bethsames a town in Juda.


Then Amasias sent messengers to Joas son of Joachaz, son of Jehu king of Israel, saying: Come, let us see one another.


Therefore I will gather thee to thy fathers: and thou shalt be gathered to thy sepulchre in peace, that thy eyes may not see all the evils which I will bring upon this place.


Now the rest of the acts of Josias, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?


And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his own country: for the king of Babylon had taken all that had belonged to the king of Egypt, from the river of Egypt, unto the river Euphrates.


But Ochozias king of Juda, seeing this, fled by the way of the garden-house. And Jehu pursued him, and said: Strike him also in his chariot. And they struck him in the going up to Gaver, which is by Jeblaam. And he fled into Mageddo, and died there.


There is also another vanity, which is done upon the earth. There are just men to whom evils happen, as though they had done the works of the wicked: and there are wicked men, who are as secure, as though they had the deeds of the just: but this also I judge most vain.


Weep not for him that is dead nor bemoan him with your tears: lament him that goeth away, for he shall return no more nor see his native country.


For thus saith the Lord to Sellum the son of Josias, the king of Juda, who reigned instead of his father, who went forth out of this place: He shall return hither no more.


But in the place to which I have removed him, there shall he die: and he shall not see this land any more.


Against Egypt, against the army of Pharao Nechao king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Charcamis, whom Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon defeated, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda.


Let not the swift flee away nor the strong think to escape: they are overthrown and fallen down, towards the north, by the river Euphrates.


Moreover, take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,


In that day there shall be a great lamentation in Jerusalem like the lamentation of Adadremmon in the plain of Mageddon.


O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments, and how unsearchable his ways!


And the inheritance of Manasses in Issachar and in Aser was Bethsan and its villages, and Jeblaam with its villages, and the inhabitants of Dor, with the towns thereof: the inhabitants also of Endor with the villages thereof: and in like manner the inhabitants of Thenac with the villages thereof: and the inhabitants of Mageddo with their villages, and the third part of the city of Nopheth.


And he shall gather them together into a place, which in Hebrew is called Armagedon.


Manasses also did not destroy Bethsan, and Thanac with their villages, nor the inhabitants of Dor, and Jeblaam, and Mageddo with their villages. And the Chanaanite began to dwell with them.


The kings came and fought, the kings of Chanaan fought in Thanach by the waters of Mageddo: and yet they took no spoils.
