So, standing over him, I killed him: for I knew that he could not live after the fall: and I took the diadem that was on his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither to thee, my lord.


And he took the crown of their king from his head, the weight of which was a talent of gold, set with most precious stones: and it was put upon David's head. And the spoils of the city which were very great he carried away.


And when Chusai the Arachite, David's friend, was come to Absalom, he said to him: God save thee, O king; God save thee, O king.


And the men of Juda came, and anointed David there, to be king over the house of Juda. And it was told David, that the men of Jabes Galaad had buried Saul.

O my God, I shall cry by day, and thou wilt not hear: and by night, and it shall not be reputed as folly in me.
