And Sadoc the priest also came, and all the Levites with him carrying the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God. And Abiathar went up, till all the people that was come out of the city had done passing.


And all the multitude went up after him, and the people played with pipes, and rejoiced with a great joy: and the earth rang with the noise of their cry.


That the praise of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment.


Trust not in lying words, saying: The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, it is the temple of the Lord.


You that are separated unto the evil day: and that approach to the throne of iniquity;

So all the people making a shout, and the trumpets sounding, when the voice and the sound thundered in the ears of the multitude, the walls forthwith fell down. And every man went up by the place that was over against him. And they took the city,


And when the voice of the trumpet shall give a longer and broken tune, and shall sound in your ears, all the people shall shout together with a very great shout: and the walls of the city shall fall to the ground. And they shall enter in every one at the place against which they shall stand.


Now when he was come to the place of the Jawbone, and the Philistines shouting went to meet him, the spirit of the Lord came strongly upon him: and as the flax is wont to be consumed at the approach of fire, so the bands with which he was bound were broken and loosed.


And the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, and they said: What is this noise of a great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.
