And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping the night watches over their flock.


I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep.


And patience trial; and trial hope;


Who by faith conquered kingdoms, wrought justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,


And the beast, which I saw, was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his own strength, and great power.


And the spirit of the Lord came upon Samson, and he tore the lion as he would have torn a kid in pieces, having nothing at all in his hand: and he would not tell this to his father and mother.


David went, and returned from Saul, to feed his father's flock at Bethlehem.


And Saul said to David: Thou art not able to withstand this Philistine, nor to fight against him: for thou art but a boy, but he is a warrior from his youth.


And I pursued after them, and struck them, and delivered it out of their mouth. And they rose up against me; and I caught them by the throat; and I strangled and killed them.
