And David consulted the Lord, saying: Shall I go up to the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to David: Go up, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into thy hand.


And David consulted the Lord: Shall I go up against the Philistines, and wilt thou deliver them into my hands? He answered: Go not up against them, but fetch a compass behind them; and thou shalt come upon them over against the pear-trees.


Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel, for a house to be built, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.


And then hear thou in heaven their prayers, and their supplications: and do judgment for them.


So when the captains of the cavalry saw Josaphat, they said: This is the king of Israel. And they surrounded him to attack him. But he cried to the Lord, and he helped him, and turned them away from him.


And Josaphat stood in the midst of the assembly of Juda, and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord before the new court,


And Ezechias the king, and Isaias the prophet, the son of Amos, prayed against this blasphemy, and cried out to heaven.


If thy people go out to war against their enemies, by the way that thou shalt send them, and adore thee towards the way of this city, which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built to thy name:


And she sent and called Barac the son of Abinoem out of Cedes in Nephtali. And she said to him: The Lord God of Israel hath commanded thee: Go, and lead an army to mount Thabor, and thou shalt take with thee ten thousand fighting men of the children of Nephtali, and of the children of Zabulon.


And the Lord looked upon him, and said: Go in this thy strength: and then shalt deliver Israel out of the hand of Madian. Know that I have sent thee.


And the Lord sent thee on the way, and said: Go, and kill the sinners of Amalec; and thou shalt fight against them until thou hast utterly destroyed them.


Now therefore go, and smite Amalec, and utterly destroy all that he hath. Spare him not, nor covet any thing that is his; but slay both man and woman, child and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.


And David consulted the Lord, saying: Shall I pursue after these robbers, and shall I overtake them, or not? And the Lord said to him: Pursue after them. For thou shalt surely overtake them and recover the prey.
