Come ye, therefore, let us go down, and there confound their tongue, that they may not understand one another's speech.


And they knew not that Joseph understood; because he spoke to them by an interpreter.


Then Eliacim the son of Helcias, and Sobna, and Joahe said to Rabsaces: We pray thee speak to us thy servants in Syriac: for we understand that tongue. And speak not to us in the Jews' language, in the hearing of the people that are upon the wall.


They have given the dead bodies of thy servants to be meat for the fowls of the air: the flesh of thy saints for the beasts of the earth.


Who answered and said to them: Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: but to them it is not given.


And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues.


And he said to them: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but to them that are without, all things are done in parables:


For they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God.


And when Paul had imposed his hands on them, the Holy Ghost came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.


And they that were with me, saw indeed the light, but they heard not the voice of him that spoke with me.


Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret from eternity,


To another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the discerning of spirits; to another, diverse kinds of tongues; to another, interpretation of speeches.


And God indeed hath set some in the church; first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly doctors; after that miracles; then the graces of healing, helps, governments, kinds of tongues, interpretations of speeches.


IF I speak with the tongues of men, and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.


And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries, and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.


Else if thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that holdeth the place of the unlearned say, Amen, to thy blessing? because he knoweth not what thou sayest.


How is it then, brethren? When you come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation: let all things be done to edification.


Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed.


But to us God hath revealed them, by this Spirit. For the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.


But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, a wisdom which is hidden, which God ordained before the world, unto our glory:


And for me, that speech may be given me, that I may open my mouth with confidence, to make known the mystery of the gospel.


The Lord will bring upon thee a nation from afar, and from the uttermost ends of the earth, like an eagle that flyeth swiftly, whose tongue thou canst not understand:


That their hearts may be comforted, being instructed in charity, and unto all riches of fulness of understanding, unto the knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus:


And evidently great is the mystery of godliness, which was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the spirit, appeared unto angels, hath been preached unto the Gentiles, is believed in the world, is taken up in glory.


Holding the mystery of faith in a pure conscience.


But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God shall be finished, as he hath declared by his servants the prophets.
