You devised evil against me. But God turned it into good, so that he might exalt me, just as you presently discern, and so that he might bring about the salvation of many peoples.


Perhaps the Lord may look with favor upon my affliction, and the Lord may repay me good, in place of the cursing of this day."


And I said: "I beg you, O Lord, God of heaven, strong, great, and terrible, who keeps covenant and mercy with those who love you and who keep your commandments:


and showing mercy to thousands of those who love me and keep my precepts.


And the earth will be shaken and will be disturbed. For the plan of the Lord against Babylon will awaken, so that he may make the land of Babylon desolate and uninhabitable.


And I will lead the third part through fire, and I will burn them just as silver is burned, and I will test them just as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will heed them. I will say, "You are my people." And they will say, "The Lord is my God."


And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart, and from your whole soul, and from your whole mind, and from your whole strength. This is the first commandment.'


Then the Gentiles, upon hearing this, were gladdened, and they were glorifying the Word of the Lord. And as many as believed were preordained to eternal life.


For the gifts and the call of God are without regret.


And those whom he predestinated, he also called. And those whom he called, he also justified. And those whom he justified, he also glorified.


when the children had not yet been born, and had not yet done anything good or bad (such that the purpose of God might be based on their choice),


to the Church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints with all who are invoking the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place of theirs and of ours.


But to those who have been called, Jews as well as Greeks, the Christ is the virtue of God and the wisdom of God.


God is faithful. Through him, you have been called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.


But this is just as it has been written: "The eye has not seen, and the ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, what things God has prepared for those who love him."


For we know that, when our earthly house of this habitation is dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven.


But, when it pleased him who, from my mother's womb, had set me apart, and who has called me by his grace,


I wonder that you have been so quickly transferred, from him who called you into the grace of Christ, over to another gospel.


This kind of influence is not from him who is calling you.


according to that timeless purpose, which he has formed in Christ Jesus our Lord.


And so, as a prisoner in the Lord, I beg you to walk in a manner worthy of the vocation to which you have been called:


You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength.


and he nourished you in the wilderness with Manna, which your fathers had not known. And after he had afflicted and tested you, in the very end, he took pity on you.


I pursue the destination, the prize of the heavenly calling of God in Christ Jesus.


For God has not appointed us for wrath, but for the acquisition of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,


who has freed us and has called us to his holy vocation, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the ages of time.


But the firm foundation of God remains standing, having this seal: the Lord knows those who are his own, and all who know the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.


And thus he is the Mediator of the new testament, so that, by his death, he intercedes for the redemption of those transgressions which were under the former testament, so that those who have been called may receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.


Blessed is the man who suffers temptation. For when he has been proven, he shall receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him.


My most beloved brothers, listen. Has not God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that God has promised to those who love him?


But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, an acquired people, so that you may announce the virtues of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.


not repaying evil with evil, nor slander with slander, but, to the contrary, repaying with blessings. For to this you have been called, so that you may possess the inheritance of a blessing.


But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will himself perfect, confirm, and establish us, after a brief time of suffering.


In this is love: not as if we had loved God, but that he first loved us, and so he sent his Son as a propitiation for our sins.


Therefore, let us love God, for God first loved us.


Those whom I love, I rebuke and chastise. Therefore, be zealous and do penance.
