Whoever denounces something obligates himself for the future. But whoever fears a lesson shall turn away in peace. Deceitful souls wander into sins. The just are merciful and compassionate.


There are many intentions in the heart of a man. But the will of the Lord shall stand firm.


There is no wisdom, there is no prudence, there is no counsel, which is against the Lord.


The man who, with a stiff neck, treats the one who corrects him with contempt will be suddenly overwhelmed to his own destruction, and reason shall not follow him.


"Why have I detested discipline, and why has my heart not been quieted by correction?


"Take the volume of a book, and you shall write in it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel and Judah, and against all the nations, from the day when I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.


And after the king had burned the volume and the words that Baruch had written from the mouth of Jeremiah, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, the prophet, saying:


"Again, take another volume and write in it all the former words, which were in the first volume that Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, has burned.


And if anyone will have taken away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his portion from the Book of Life, and from the Holy City, and from these things which have been written in this book.
