Among the arrogant, there are always conflicts. But those who do everything with counsel are ruled by wisdom.


Whoever is patient is governed by much prudence. But whoever is impatient exalts his foolishness.


A short-tempered man provokes conflicts. Whoever is patient tempers those who are stirred up.


A patient man is better than a strong one. And whoever rules his soul is better than one who assaults cities.


Whoever boasts and enlarges himself stirs up conflicts. Yet truly, whoever trusts in the Lord will be healed.


Why is it necessary for a man to seek things that are greater than himself, when he does not know what is advantageous for himself in his life, during the number of the days of his sojourn, and while time passes by like a shadow? Or who will be able to tell him what will be in the future after him under the sun?


And Abraham said to him: 'Son, recall that you received good things in your life, and in comparison, Lazarus received bad things. But now he is consoled, and truly you are tormented.


By your patience, you shall possess your souls.


But the fruit of the Spirit is charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, forbearance,


with all humility and meekness, with patience, supporting one another in charity.


For it is necessary for you to be patient, so that, by doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.


Consider that we beatify those who have endured. You have heard of the patient suffering of Job. And you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.


Therefore, you too should be patient and should strengthen your hearts. For the advent of the Lord draws near.


For this reason, gird the waist of your mind, be sober, and hope perfectly in the grace that is offered to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ.
