And if you greet only your brothers, what more have you done? Do not even the pagans behave this way?


And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face and to strike him with fists, and to say to him, "Prophesy." And the servants struck him with the palms their hands.


And if you love those who love you, what credit is due to you? For even sinners love those who love them.


Even to this very hour, we hunger and thirst, and we are naked and repeatedly beaten, and we are unsteady.


But be imitators of what is good, always in a good way, and not only when I am present with you.

But I have everything in abundance. I have been filled up, having received from Epaphroditus the things that you sent; this is an odor of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.


For this is grace: when, because of God, a man willingly endures sorrows, suffering injustice.


And yet, even when you suffer something for the sake of justice, you are blessed. So then, do not be afraid with their fear, and do not be disturbed.


For it is better to suffer for doing good, if it is the will of God, than for doing evil.
