And Jacob said, Swear to me first; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.


And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines, unto Gerar.


And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy first-born, Esau.


Yea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word,


Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be joyful: for that shall abide with him in his labor all the days of his life which God hath given him under the sun.


and, behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: Let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we shall die.


And Jehovah said unto me, Cast it unto the potter, the goodly price that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them unto the potter, in the house of Jehovah.


But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;


and said, What are ye willing to give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they weighed unto him thirty pieces of silver.


Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; For I work a work in your days, A work which ye shall in no wise believe, if one declare it unto you.


If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.
