And he said to his servants: "This is John the Baptist. He has risen from the dead, and that is why miracles are at work in him."
saying, "I have sinned in betraying just blood." But they said to him: "What is that to us? See to it yourself."
But others were saying, "Because it is Elijah." Still others were saying, "Because he is a prophet, like one of the prophets."
For Herod himself had sent to capture John, and had chained him in prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip; for he had married her.
And Herod said: "I beheaded John. So then, who is this, about whom I hear such things?" And he sought to see him.
