When the pestilent are scourged, the foolish will become wiser. But if you chastise the wise, he will understand discipline.
When the pestilent is punished, a little one will become wiser. And if he pursues what is wise, he will receive knowledge.
You shall speak these things to the sons of Israel: A man among the sons Israel, or among the newcomers who live in Israel, if he will have given from his seed to the idol Moloch, he shall be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him.

Then the others, upon hearing this, will be afraid, and they will by no means dare to do such things.
Then the people of the city shall stone him to death. And he shall die, so that you may take away the evil from your midst. And so may all of Israel, upon hearing it, be very afraid.
There, Joshua said: "Because you have troubled us, the Lord troubles you, on this day." And all of Israel stoned him. And all the things that were his were consumed by fire.
