That unhappy man asked, if there were a mighty One in heaven, that had commanded the sabbath day to be kept.

Then Nicanor, the lowest creature on earth, asked if there was some sovereign ruler in heaven who had commanded them to honor the Sabbath.

Then the thrice-accursed wretch asked if there were a Sovereign in heaven who had commanded to keep the Sabbath day.

But that horrible Nicanor replied, “Did some great ruler in heaven really command you Jews to honor the Sabbath?”
