20 And we said to my lord, 'We have a father, an old man, and a young brother, the child of his old age. His brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother's children, and his father loves him.'

And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni;[7] but his father called him Benjamin.[8]


They said to one another, "Here comes this dreamer.


Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a robe of many colors.[1]


And they said, "We, your servants, are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan, and behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is no more."


And Jacob their father said to them, "You have bereaved me of my children: Joseph is no more, and Simeon is no more, and now you would take Benjamin. All this has come against me."


But he said, "My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. If harm should happen to him on the journey that you are to make, you would bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol."


And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.


"Judah, your brothers shall praise you; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons shall bow down before you.


As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her.
