I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; see, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O Lord.


Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying:


Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God,


And the whole city was gathered around the door.


When they found him, they said to him, “Everyone is searching for you.”


But he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the word, so that Jesus could no longer go into a town openly, but stayed out in the country; and people came to him from every quarter.


When he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.


Jesus went out again beside the sea; the whole crowd gathered around him, and he taught them.


As he went ashore, he saw a great crowd; and he had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.


Meanwhile, when the crowd gathered by the thousands, so that they trampled on one another, he began to speak first to his disciples, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, that is, their hypocrisy.


One day, while he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting near by (they had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem); and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.


Soon afterwards he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. The twelve were with him,


“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.


Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that took place over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, and they spoke the word to no one except Jews.


When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.


They went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.


Now after Peter and John had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, proclaiming the good news to many villages of the Samaritans.


But what does it say? “The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);


proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching.
