But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup which I am about to drink, or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able."

Peter said to Him, "Even if I have to die with You, by no means will I deny You!" And likewise said all the disciples.


He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."


Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, let Your will be done."


But all this has happened so that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.


And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will."


But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is completed!


saying, "Father, if You will, remove this cup from Me--nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."


Then Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?"


Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.


You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend it in gratifying your lusts.
