I was hungry and they gave me bitter food. I was thirsty and they offered me vinegar.


Why are we just sitting here? Let’s band together and go inside our walled cities and await our death, since Yahweh our God has condemned us to die. He has given us our bitter poison to drink, for we have sinned against him.


One bystander ran and got a sponge, soaked it with sour wine, then put it on a stick and held it up for Jesus to drink.


There they offered him a mild painkiller, a drink of wine mixed with gall, but he refused to drink it.


It is impossible to restore an apostate. For once a person has come into God’s light, and tasted the gifts of the heavenly realm, and has received the Holy Spirit,
