Isaiah 26:10 - Good News Translation

10 Even though you are kind to the wicked, they never learn to do what is right. Even here in a land of righteous people they still do wrong; they refuse to recognize your greatness.

But they still did not give up the sins into which King Jeroboam had led Israel, but kept on committing them; and the image of the goddess Asherah remained in Samaria.


Many times the Lord rescued his people, but they chose to rebel against him and sank deeper into sin.


You are my God; teach me to do your will. Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.


Keep a record of all their sins; don't let them have any part in your salvation.


When the king saw that the frogs were dead, he became stubborn again and, just as the Lord had said, the king would not listen to Moses and Aaron.


But I know that you and your officials do not yet fear the Lord God.”


When the king saw what had happened, he sinned again. He and his officials remained as stubborn as ever


Inexperienced people die because they reject wisdom. Stupid people are destroyed by their own lack of concern.


In addition, I have also noticed that in this world you find wickedness where justice and right ought to be.


Why do people commit crimes so readily? Because crime is not punished quickly enough.


The city that once was faithful is behaving like a whore! At one time it was filled with righteous people, but now only murderers remain.


They will hide in caves in the rocky hills or dig holes in the ground to try to escape from the Lord's anger and to hide from his power and glory!


The people have defiled the earth by breaking God's laws and by violating the covenant he made to last forever.


When that day comes, a trumpet will be blown to call back from Assyria and Egypt all the Israelites who are in exile there. They will come and worship the Lord in Jerusalem, on his sacred hill.


A fool speaks foolishly and thinks up evil things to do. What he does and what he says are an insult to the Lord, and he never feeds the hungry or gives thirsty people anything to drink.


A stupid person is evil and does evil things; he plots to ruin the poor with lies and to keep them from getting their rights.


At your feasts you have harps and tambourines and flutes—and wine. But you don't understand what the Lord is doing,


I brought them into a fertile land, to enjoy its harvests and its other good things. But instead they ruined my land; they defiled the country I had given them.


The Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says, “When I restore the people to their land, they will once again say in the land of Judah and in its towns, ‘May the Lord bless the sacred hill of Jerusalem, the holy place where he lives.’


They insist on turning away from me. They will cry out because of the yoke that is on them, but no one will lift it from them.


But when you entered the good land, you became full and satisfied, and then you grew proud and forgot me.


The people of Israel will not remain in the Lord's land, but will have to go back to Egypt and will have to eat forbidden food in Assyria.


Get up and go; there is no safety here any more. Your sins have doomed this place to destruction.


Then the Devil took Jesus to Jerusalem, the Holy City, set him on the highest point of the Temple,


“The Lord's people grew rich, but rebellious; they were fat and stuffed with food. They abandoned God their Creator and rejected their mighty savior.


I have given her time to repent of her sins, but she does not want to turn from her immorality.
