therefore behold, I will bring harm upon the house of Jeroboam and will cut off from Jeroboam every male, both bond and free in Israel, and will burn up the house of Jeroboam, as a man burns up dung until it is all gone.


Behold, I will bring disaster upon you. I will utterly burn you up, and will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.


For the Lord saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter, for there was none left, bond or free, and there was none to help Israel.


For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.


For their sake he remembered his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love.


For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.


He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people:


The Lord judges the peoples; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.


Return, O Lord! How long? Have pity on your servants!


before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness.


And the Lord relented from the disaster that he had spoken of bringing on his people.


But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.


Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, declares the Lord.


If you will remain in this land, then I will build you up and not pull you down; I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I relent of the disaster that I did to you.


And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished.


Who knows whether he will not turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, a grain offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God?


Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people.


But the land shall be abandoned by them and enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they spurned my rules and their soul abhorred my statutes.


The Lord relented concerning this: “It shall not be,” said the Lord.

For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”


Whenever the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge, and he saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. For the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who afflicted and oppressed them.
