A sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come on him.


There they were in fear and terror, for God is with the righteous generation.


“As when one plows and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.”


The one enthroned in the heavens laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.


Let them be disappointed and confounded together who rejoice at my calamity. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me.


Let those who seek after my soul be disappointed and brought to dishonor. Let those who plot my ruin be turned back and confounded.


Let them be disappointed and confounded together who seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.


As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.


The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.


“For, I will surely make you small among the nations, and despised among men.


Men will call them rejected silver, because YHWH has rejected them.”


He has violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were a garden. He has destroyed his place of assembly. YHWH has caused solemn assembly and Sabbath to be forgotten in Zion. In the indignation of his anger, he has despised the king and the priest.


I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel in front of their idols. I will scatter y’all’s bones around y’all’s altars.


I will set my face against y’all, and y’all will be struck down before y’all’s enemies. Those who hate y’all will rule over y’all, and y’all will flee when no one is pursuing y’all.


“‘As for those of y’all who are left, I will bring weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight. They will flee as though fleeing from the sword, and will fall though no one pursues.


There was a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people, the garrison and the raiders also trembled, and the earth quaked, so there was an exceedingly great trembling.
