When the king lived in his house, and YHWH had given him rest from all his enemies all around,


This is the reward of my adversaries from YHWH, of those who speak evil against my soul.


I have set YHWH continually before me. Because ʜᴇ is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.


I love you, YHWH, my strength.


You will break them with a rod of iron. You will dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”


May those who dwell in the wilderness bow before him. and his enemies lick the dust.


As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, whose graven images exceeded those of Jerusalem and of Samaria,


But his subjects hated him, and sent an envoy after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be king over us.’


But those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to be king over them—y’all bring them and kill them in front of me.’”


For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.


Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword that with it he should strike the ethnic groups. He will shepherd them with an iron rod. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.


Though men may rise up to pursue you and to seek your soul, yet the soul of my lord will be bound in the bundle of life with YHWH your God. He will sling out the souls of your enemies as from a sling’s pocket.
