And it came to pass when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,


From them that resist thy right hand keep me, as the apple of thy eye. Protect me under the shadow of thy wings.


Unto the end. A psalm for David.


Thou shalt rule them with a rod of iron, and shalt break them in pieces like a potter's vessel.


They have set their mouth against heaven: and their tongue hath passed through the earth.


As my hand hath found the kingdome of the idol, so also their idols of Jerusalem, and of Samaria.


But his citizens hated him: and they sent an embassage after him, saying: We will not have this man to reign over us.


But as for those my enemies, who would not have me reign over them, bring them hither, and kill them before me.


For he must reign, until he hath put all his enemies under his feet.


And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp two edged sword; that with it he may strike the nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God the Almighty.


For if a man at any time shall rise, and persecute thee, and seek thy life, the soul of my lord shall be kept, as in the bundle of the living, with the Lord thy God. But the souls of thy enemies shall be whirled, as with the violence and whirling of a sling.


And the whole weight of the battle was turned upon Saul: and the archers overtook him. And he was grievously wounded by the archers.
