They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know?


If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, there you are!


But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for ʜᴇ will receive me. Selah.


The wicked will return to Sheol, all the nations that forget God.


Sheol and Abaddon are before YHWH— how much more then the hearts of the children of men!


Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; so a person’s eyes are never satisfied.


Sheol from beneath has moved for you to meet you at your coming. It stirs up the departed spirits for you, even all the rulers of the earth. It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.


Therefore Sheol has enlarged its appetite, and opened its mouth without measure; and their splendor, their masses, their pomp, and her din of revelry and the jubilant descend into it.


“Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.

Though they dig into Sheol, there my hand will take them; and though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down.


“‘They must not go near a dead body during the days of separation to YHWH .


The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the one who is to be born will be holy and will be called the Son of God.


While he was in torment in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off with Lazarus by his side.


“Go away! What do we have to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”


So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable; it is raised as imperishable.


For a fire is kindled in my anger, that burns to the lowest Sheol, devours the earth with its increase, and sets the foundations of the mountains on fire.


and the Living One. I was dead, but look! I am alive forever and ever, and I have the keys of Death and of Hades.


The sea gave up the dead who were in her, and death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. Each one was judged according to their deeds.
