You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.


Rise up, YHWH! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless.


to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the mortal human of the earth may terrorize them no more.


His ways are prosperous at all times. He is arrogant, and your laws are far from his sight. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.


Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men!


This poor man cried, and YHWH heard him, and saved him from all his troubles.


They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.


Pharaoh said, “Who is YHWH, that I should listen to his voice to let Israel go? I don’t know YHWH, and moreover I will not let Israel go.”


He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.


Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit.


Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun. Look, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.


If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don’t marvel at the matter, for one official is eyed by a higher one, and there are officials over them.


It will be for a sign and for a witness to YHWH Almighty in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to YHWH because of oppressors, and he will send them a savior and a defender, and he will deliver them.


“Now I will arise,” says YHWH. “Now I will lift myself up. Now I will be exalted.


As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, robbed his brother, and did what is not good among his people, he will surely die in his iniquity.


They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.


Look! The wages of the laborers who mowed y’all’s fields, which y’all have kept back by fraud, cry out against y’all. The cries of the harvesters have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies.


They put away the foreign gods from among them and served YHWH; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
