But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, And from the hand of the mighty.


Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: Neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.


Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: Forget not the humble.


To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, That the man of the earth may no more oppress.


His ways are always grievous; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.


Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; Which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!


This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.


They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: They speak loftily.


And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.


He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: But he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.


Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.


So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
